I know I am aging myself here….but back in the day, bringing a Broccoli Salad to a potluck was one of the go-tos.
As I think about going to a baseball tournament where I need to bring “something”, my brain automatically comes back to this salad. It is crisp, tasty, healthy, and full of crunchy flavor. The other thing I love about this salad as a potluck option is that it is raw, and is easily portable. I mean, chop, assemble and mix up the dressing and pour on top. The dressing doesn’t make it soggy and in fact, you are to leave it in the fridge 3 hours prior, but I use this more as a guide than a rule.
Many Broccoli Salads have raisins. Now, you can add raisins or craisins as it does add a little “chew” factor, but for me, the bonus that I love is the sunflower seeds. And I don’t care for raisins. So add them as you will!
