I’m going to give you an image. Are you ready?
There you are. Walking along the deck of the cruise ship with the wind blowing in your hair on the Pacific Ocean. You are walking along the deck investigating everything the ship has to offer: unique gift shops, exquisite restaurants, half a dozen pools, hot tubs and a spa. Looking to the left are giant glaciers that are blue-white in color and utterly majestic. Looking to the right and you see the wide open water of the Pacific Ocean, the gentle waves lapping along the hull of the boat.
You walk to the café beside the spa and find a wide variety of refreshing drinks at your fingertips. You order a Prosecco. The light and crisp bubbles are delicious and… you smile.
I’ve often heard the term “In the pocket” when referred to dancers. But when on vacation, “in the pocket” to me means going with the flow, living in the moment and enjoying. Every. Single. Second.
Every time I have a Prosecco, this is the image I have, the feeling I get. You see, I was on a cruise with my parents and my sister and it was probably one of the best trips I have ever taken. Leaving Vancouver to the open sea, heading north to Alaska. Ever done it? You should. Oh…and get the drinks package where you can have unlimited alcohol for the duration of your cruise. My sister Chris and I developed a routine over the course of the days we were at sea and it always involved Prosecco, reading smutty books and being “in the pocket”. It was a dream. It was an adventure.
To that end, here is a recipe that will compliment any of your summer plans. From bird watching in your back yard to people watching from your front porch, this is the perfect drink for you.
Stay peachy and stay sassy friends.
- 3 cups Prosecco
- 2 cups Peach Nectar
- 1 cup Raspberries
